Catholic Schools NSW (CSNSW) would first like to acknowledge what a difficult time the past week has been for your schools and the broader community in preparing for and responding to the impacts of ex-tropical Cyclone Alfred.
CSNSW was advised of a number of school closures in anticipation of the impact of the ex-cyclone.
CSNSW has been working closely with NESA and the other education sectors to support schools affected by the ex-cyclone, regarding the scheduling and delivery of the upcoming NAPLAN tests.
NESA has advised that, while NAPLAN tests begin nationally onWednesday 12 March, schools impacted by the effects of the ex-cyclone should prioritise the wellbeing and safety of students and their school communities. There is no expectation that these schools deliver NAPLAN testing as scheduled.
NESA also recognises that schools’ NAPLAN preparation has been disrupted.
Under these circumstances, NESA will provide tailored advice and support directly to schools as they become fully or partially operational.
