NSW Catholic Primary Schools (NSWCPS)

NSWCPS provides structured opportunities for students to compete at higher levels.

NSW Catholic Primary Schools (NSWCPS) coordinates representative sports for primary Catholic schools in NSW.

Regions and structure

NSWCPS is divided into two regions:

  • MacKillop (Southern NSW)
  • Polding (Northern NSW).

Primary Catholic schools compete based on their diocesan location, ensuring broad participation and representation in state fixtures held by NSWPSSA.

This structure allows students from various regions to engage in competitive sports, fostering a spirit of teamwork and sportsmanship.

Pathway for students

The representative pathway for primary students typically involves:

  • Diocesan competitions – competing at the local diocesan level.
  • Regional championships – advancing to MacKillop or Polding championships.
  • State competitions – representing their region in state fixtures organised by NSWPSSA.

This pathway ensures that talented young athletes have the opportunity to progress through competitive levels and showcase their abilities on larger stages.
