NSW Curriculum Reform

The NSW Curriculum reform has been a time of reflection, consultation and change. The reform aims to ensure that our young people are well-prepared to contribute to our society and the world.

Implementation of the roadmap

CSNSW is supporting schools and systems in implementing curriculum reform through a range of structures and activities, including:

  • CSNSW membership of key NESA committees
    • Curriculum Reform Steering Committee  –  Danielle Cronin
    • Curriculum and Credentials Committee  –  Dr Joanne Hack
  • Sector Expert Reference Groups
  • professional learning opportunities for dioceses and schools including conferences
  • ‘Early adopter’ partnerships with the NSW Department of Education
  • an online Curriculum Reform Hub to share information and provide a repository of resources
  • individual visits to dioceses.

Collaboration opportunities

We are also providing opportunities for face-to-face inter-diocesan and school collaboration through the following activities:

  • Online and on-demand professional development  modules available on the CSNSW Professional Learning Portal to support syllabus familiarisation and implementation
  • Conferences such as the 2024 CSNSW  Secondary Curriculum Reform Conference  (30 September – 1 October). These conferences are popular, so register today to join your colleagues from across NSW and consider the syllabus implementation and opportunities for school improvement
  • The K-6 Curriculum Symposium facilitated by Dr Simon Breakspear, focused on methodologies to support school-based curriculum reform, including developing implementation teams
  • a K-6 Curriculum Reform Working Group
  • a Secondary Curriculum Officers Network.
