The NCCD collects data about school students with disability who are receiving adjustments across Australian schools in a consistent, reliable and systematic way. It enables schools, education authorities and governments to better understand the needs of students with disability and how they can be best supported at school.
From 2018, funding for students with disability provided by the NSW and Australian Governments is based on the NCCD.
CSNSW is the approved sector authority for the NCCD and provides a portal through which schools verify the eligibility of students for the NCCD and the evidence for that eligibility as stipulated in the National Guidelines for the NCCD.
CSNSW also provides a range of quality assurance resources and training to schools and Catholic School Agencies to help them meet their obligations under the NCCD, the Disability Discrimination Act 1992 and the Disability Standards for Education 2005.
