Catholic Schools NSW Professional Learning (CSNSW PL) is informed by daily conversations with educators and educational leaders in our sector and beyond. That is why once again in 2025 we will be offering up-to-date, high-quality, professional learning that responds expressly to the needs of the sector. 

Partnering with leading academics and subject matter experts to ensure our content is relevant and evidenced in the latest research, we are pleased to announce an exceptional lineup.

Key Catholic Schools NSW Professional Learning Events 2025 

                                    HSC Analysis Seminars with Dr John DeCourcy

Theme: Discusses the intricacies and importance of understanding and analyzing the 2024 HSC data.

Audience: Teachers, school leaders, and system officers are invited 

Each training seminar contributes 5 Professional Development (PD) hours in the Priority area Delivery and assessment of the NSW curriculum.

                                    Early Career Teacher Behaviour Symposium: May 22

Theme: Tom Bennett OBE, behaviour expert leads early career teachers (ECTs) and others to build a toolbox of resources to support school and classroom management.

Audience: Early career teachers and others requiring support to manage student behaviour and mentors.

Assistant Principals and mentors are invited to accompany ECTs and will have a Masterclass with Tom.

                                    Leaders Behaviour Symposium: May 23

Theme: Tom Bennett OBE, behaviour expert leads a discussion for system and school leaders on policy development.

Audience: System and school leaders, leaders of wellbeing.

                                    Education Law Symposium: July 14 

Theme: Examines current governance challenges faced by Catholic schools providing insight and guidance. 

Audience: Responsible Persons, system and school leaders, school boards and canonical stewards

The symposium contributes 6 hours NESA Approved Training for Responsible Persons

                                    Connected Catholic Communities: 14 August 

Theme: Responds to the Catholic and national agenda of community to build on the work of the past two years. The symposium features a keynote by international presenter Anne T. Henderson.

Audience: School and system leaders, leaders of wellbeing, leaders of RIMPJPs, parent bodies, parishes, Catholic social services, health providers and others 

                                    Early Years Symposium: September 4 

Theme: Focusing on the ideals proclaimed in the Charter of the United Nations—peace, dignity, tolerance, freedom, equality, and solidarity the symposium presents the latest insights and innovative practices in early childhood education.

Audience: Early childhood educators, teachers and leaders form school and prior to school settings.

                                    Religious Education Symposium: September 5 

Theme: Delving into the purpose of a properly constituted Religious Education curriculum the symposium will explore innovation in practice in both pedagogy and faith and mission programmes. 

Audience: Pre-school to Senior Secondary leaders of Religious Education from systems and schools.

                                     Curriculum Conference: September 29-30 

Theme: Recognising the complexity of ongoing curriculum reform the conference will showcase successful implementation including leadership, pedagogy and assessment and prepare the sector to continue the work.

Audience: K-12 School and system leaders and teachers.

This conference contributes 8 Professional Development (PD) hours in the Priority area Delivery and assessment of the NSW curriculum.
